First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether scrambler therapy, a device that sends electrical signals to the skin, can reduce pain, numbness, and tingling from chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. About 90 adults with persistent nerve pain will receive either real or sham treatment for 10 sessions. Researchers will track changes in pain and quality of life over a year.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Scrambler Therapy device

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a non-drug option to reduce pain and improve daily life for people with chemotherapy-induced nerve damage.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study with only 90 people. The sham control means some may not get real treatment, and results may not apply to everyone with nerve pain.
