First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study looks at whether specific genes influence how people respond to a meal and a single dose of metformin, a common diabetes medication. Over 1,000 adults without diabetes will eat a special test meal and take metformin to measure changes in blood sugar and insulin. The goal is to understand why some people may be more prone to type 2 diabetes based on their genetic makeup.
