First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study looks at how experiencing violence at school—like a shooting—and the safety measures schools put in place afterward affect the mental health and learning of students and staff. Researchers will survey 2,500 middle and high school students and teachers from schools that have had a shooting and those that haven't. The goal is to understand how these experiences shape well-being and school performance.
