First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study will follow 110 patients aged 80 and older who are hospitalized for acute heart failure. Researchers will use muscle ultrasound, strength tests, and blood markers to understand how muscle loss (sarcopenia) affects their recovery. The goal is to find better ways to predict who might need to be readmitted or face complications after leaving the hospital.
