New Chair-Side test could simplify frailty screening for seniors

NCT ID NCT07011030

Summary

This study tested a new, more convenient device for diagnosing sarcopenia, which is age-related muscle loss that leads to frailty. Researchers compared a simple, seated bioimpedance scanner against the standard bone density scan in 72 adults aged 60 and over. The goal was to see if the easier, chair-side test could provide equally accurate results for measuring muscle mass.
