Can a salt substitute save your kidneys after tumor surgery?
NCT ID NCT07062952
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether using a low-sodium, potassium-enriched salt substitute instead of regular salt can help protect kidney function in people who have had surgery for a kidney tumor. Two hundred adults who had a partial or full kidney removal will either use the salt substitute or regular salt for one year, following WHO salt guidelines. Researchers will measure kidney function and check for side effects.
