Salt mine therapy tested for COPD relief

NCT ID NCT07122544

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether doing pulmonary rehabilitation in underground salt chambers improves breathing, exercise ability, and quality of life in people with COPD. 80 adults with stable COPD will be split into four groups: rehab in salt chambers, rehab in a gym, just sitting in salt chambers, or health education only. Researchers will measure changes in walking distance, symptoms, and muscle strength right after the 16-day program and again three months later.
