Saline solution could be key to saving lives after severe brain trauma

NCT ID NCT07319208

Summary

This study aims to see if giving a concentrated saltwater (saline) solution early and continuously through an IV can help people survive and live more independently after a severe traumatic brain injury. It will involve 760 patients in intensive care who are at high risk of dangerous brain swelling. Researchers will compare the saline treatment to standard care to see if it leads to better survival and daily living abilities six months after the injury.
