Summary
This early study tested whether it is safe to temporarily open the blood-brain barrier using focused ultrasound in 8 people with HER2-positive breast cancer that spread to the brain. The goal was to see if the procedure could be done without causing serious side effects. The study did not test whether this helps treat the cancer, only if the approach is safe and feasible.
