First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study tests a more precise radiation method (IMRT) for total body irradiation before stem cell transplant in 20 adults with acute leukemia or myelodysplastic syndrome. The goal is to reduce radiation to the lungs, lowering the risk of lung side effects while still preparing the body for transplant. Participants receive the new radiation plus standard chemotherapy, and researchers track side effects and treatment completion.
