NCT ID NCT05933174

First seen Nov 16, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study focuses on older adults with type 2 diabetes who are taking sulfonylureas, a class of medication that can cause dangerous low blood sugar and heart problems. The researchers want to help patients and their doctors discuss switching to newer, safer drugs like GLP-1 agonists and SGLT2 inhibitors. About 220 participants will be split into two groups: one receives a simple question sheet to start the conversation, while the other gets a general brochure. The goal is to see if this approach leads to more discussions and safer medication choices.
