New monitor aims to prevent breathing crises after surgery
NCT ID NCT06975553
Summary
This study is testing if a special monitor can help doctors decide the safest time to remove a patient's breathing tube after surgery. The monitor gives a single score based on breathing rate, oxygen levels, and heart rate. Researchers will compare patients whose tube removal is guided by this score to those following standard care, to see if it reduces dangerous drops in oxygen levels.
