Radiation boost may buy more time for breast cancer patients

NCT ID NCT06882499

First seen Apr 09, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding a precise, high-dose radiation treatment called SABR to ongoing hormone therapy and CDK 4/6 inhibitors can delay the need to switch to a new cancer treatment in people with ER-positive, HER2-negative advanced breast cancer. About 74 participants whose cancer has started to grow in a few spots while on first-line therapy will be randomly assigned to receive either SABR plus their current drugs or a new standard drug treatment chosen by their doctor. The goal is to see if the radiation approach keeps the cancer under control longer.
