New hope for myelofibrosis patients: experimental drug RVU120 enters Mid-Stage trial

NCT ID NCT06397313

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This Phase 2 trial tests a new drug called RVU120, alone or with the standard drug ruxolitinib, in 230 adults with intermediate or high-risk myelofibrosis. The main goal is to see if the drug can shrink the spleen and improve symptoms. Participants must have not responded well to prior JAK inhibitor treatment or be unable to take it.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
RVU120 (a CDK8/CDK19 inhibitor) and ruxolitinib (a JAK inhibitor)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a new treatment option for people with myelofibrosis who have not responded well to current therapies.
What could go wrong
This is an early Phase 2 trial, so the drug may not work as hoped or could cause unexpected side effects. Results may not apply to all patients.
