First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests whether a respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine can reduce moderate-to-severe COPD flare-ups in people who have frequent attacks. Researchers will enroll 320 COPD patients who have had at least two flare-ups in the past year despite using standard inhalers. Half will get the RSV vaccine plus usual care, and half will get usual care alone. The goal is to see if the vaccine cuts flare-ups by at least 20% over one year.
