First seen Mar 11, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study gave 32 healthy adults a mild dose of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in a hospital setting to closely monitor how the body fights the infection. Participants stayed in isolation for about 10 days while researchers tracked symptoms, viral shedding, and immune responses. The goal was not to treat disease but to gather knowledge that could speed up development of future RSV vaccines or treatments.
