First seen May 15, 2026 ยท Last updated May 15, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether continuously infusing a local anesthetic (ropivacaine) into the surgical wound after mastectomy reduces pain and speeds recovery compared to a placebo. It involved 59 women with breast cancer. The goal was to improve pain control at rest and during movement, reduce the need for morphine, and help patients recover faster at home.
