Biosimilar switch for asthma and hives under Real-World study
NCT ID NCT07425639
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is observing 225 adults with severe allergic asthma or chronic hives who are already doing well on the original omalizumab drug. Their doctors have decided to switch them to a biosimilar version called Omlyclo. The main goal is to see if they stay well-controlled for 12 months after the switch, and how satisfied they are with the new treatment.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
omalizumab biosimilar (Omlyclo)
What this could lead to
If successful, this study could show that switching to a biosimilar is a safe and effective option for managing chronic inflammatory conditions, potentially lowering treatment costs.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a controlled trial, so results may be less definitive. It only includes patients already stable on the original drug, so findings may not apply to everyone.
