First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tested a robotic arm that holds a tiny needle steady during eye surgery. 20 people with bleeding behind the retina (from age-related macular degeneration) received a clot-busting drug injected under the retina using the robot. The goal was to see if the robot could help the surgeon place the needle accurately and keep it still for up to 3 minutes.
