New anesthesia approach tested to ease pain after prostate cancer surgery

NCT ID NCT03808077

Summary

This study is testing whether using a deeper level of muscle relaxation during robotic prostate cancer surgery leads to less pain after the operation. Researchers are comparing this deeper relaxation to the standard moderate level in about 140 men having this surgery. The goal is to see if the deeper relaxation allows surgeons to use lower pressure inside the abdomen during the operation, which might reduce pain as patients recover.
