Robotic liver surgery goes remote: a new trial begins

NCT ID NCT07524699

First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests whether a robotic system can perform liver surgery from a distance as safely and effectively as when the surgeon is in the same room. About 102 adults needing liver surgery will be randomly assigned to either remote or local robotic surgery. The main goal is to see if remote surgery avoids the need to switch to a different surgical method and to track any serious complications.
