Robots vs. surgeons: new trial tests better way to do kidney transplants

NCT ID NCT05730257

Summary

This study is testing whether using a robot to assist with kidney transplant surgery leads to fewer complications than traditional open surgery. It involves 106 adult patients receiving a kidney transplant, who are randomly assigned to have either the robotic or the open procedure. The main goal is to see if the robotic approach reduces serious surgical problems and blood vessel issues in the first month after surgery.
