Robot companions take on loneliness in seniors

Summary

This study tests whether a robot that can be personalized by older adults helps reduce loneliness and depression better than a standard robot or usual care. About 90 people aged 65 and older living in a care community will interact with the robot for 20 minutes twice a week over 8 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in mood, self-confidence, and quality of life.
