Robotic exoskeleton steps in to fight muscle wasting after stroke

NCT ID NCT06910254

Summary

This study tested if adding a wearable robot suit for walking practice to standard recumbent bike training could better help people recovering from a recent stroke who are losing muscle. Fifty-three participants were randomly assigned to receive either the combined robot and bike training or just the bike training for four weeks. Researchers measured changes in muscle quality, strength, walking ability, and confidence to see if the robot-assisted walking provided extra benefits.
