Robot arms take on brain surgery: first human test underway

NCT ID NCT06752096

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This early study tests whether a robot can help doctors perform delicate brain blood vessel procedures, such as taking images, blocking blood flow to tumors, or removing clots during a stroke. Ten people already scheduled for these standard treatments may have their procedure done robotically instead. The main goal is to see if the robot can successfully guide tools to the right spot.
