Scientists probe Radiation's immune effects in rectal cancer

Summary

This study is collecting tissue samples from 25 adults with rectal cancer who are receiving standard short-course radiation before surgery. The goal is to understand how radiation changes the immune system at the cellular level. Participants will provide biopsies and imaging before and after treatment. This is an observational study, not a treatment trial, and aims to improve future therapies.
