Ultrasound spots arthritis relapse before symptoms return

NCT ID NCT01765374

First seen Apr 22, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested whether ultrasound can detect early signs of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) flare-ups in 30 patients treated with rituximab, before they feel symptoms. Participants had already failed at least one other RA drug. The goal was to see if ultrasound could predict a relapse sooner than standard exams, potentially allowing earlier treatment adjustments.
