First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tested whether the drug ritlecitinib can prevent intestinal damage and symptoms caused by gluten in people with celiac disease who are already on a gluten-free diet. 62 adults with inactive celiac disease took either the drug or a placebo along with a small amount of gluten. The goal was to see if the drug could protect the small intestine and reduce symptoms during a gluten challenge.
