Dental breakthrough: growth factor membranes may boost implant success in thin jaws
NCT ID NCT07534787
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a dental procedure for people with narrow jawbones who need implants. Surgeons split the ridge, place the implant, and cover it with a membrane made from the patient's own blood (concentrated growth factor) to help healing. Ten adults aged 20-50 will be followed to measure pain and bone changes.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Concentrated Growth Factor (CGF) membranes
What this could lead to
If successful, this approach could improve dental implant success in patients with narrow jawbones, reducing pain and enhancing healing.
What could go wrong
This is a very small, early case series with only 10 participants, so results may not apply widely. Risks include infection, implant failure, or inadequate bone healing.
