Rideshare with a buddy: new study aims to cut missed doctor visits for Alzheimer's patients
NCT ID NCT06850870
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tests whether a door-through-door rideshare service, where a trained companion helps participants from their home into the doctor's office, can reduce missed medical appointments for older adults with Alzheimer's or related dementias. About 120 participants will be randomly assigned to either this full-service ride or a standard curb-to-curb ride. The goal is to see if the extra support improves appointment attendance and quality of life.
