New needle treatment may replace surgery for adrenal gland tumor

NCT ID NCT07470580

First seen Mar 13, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study compares a newer, less invasive procedure called radiofrequency ablation (using heat to destroy a small adrenal tumor) with standard laparoscopic surgery to remove the tumor. The goal is to see if the ablation works as well as surgery to fix the hormone imbalance that causes high blood pressure, with fewer side effects. About 134 adults with a specific adrenal tumor (Conn adenoma) and high blood pressure will take part.
