First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests a device that targets nerves in the lungs to help people with moderate to severe COPD breathe easier. About 300 participants will be randomly assigned to receive the real treatment or a sham procedure. Researchers will track symptoms, exercise ability, and flare-ups over time to see if the device is safe and effective.

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Targeted Lung Denervation (TLD) Catheter

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a new way to reduce COPD symptoms and flare-ups without daily medication.

What could go wrong

This is a pivotal study, but the treatment is still experimental. It may not improve symptoms, and there are risks from the bronchoscopy procedure, such as bleeding or infection.
