Summary
This study explored whether a special eye scan (hyperspectral retinal imaging) can detect beta-amyloid, a protein linked to Alzheimer's disease, in the retina. Researchers aimed to see if this non-invasive test could distinguish people with Alzheimer's from healthy individuals. The study included 186 adults aged 30 and older with or without Alzheimer's. The approach could offer a simpler, less invasive way to diagnose Alzheimer's compared to current methods like PET scans.
