NCT ID NCT04986072

First seen Dec 15, 2025 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tested whether a drug called sodium nitroprusside (normally used for blood pressure) could reduce schizophrenia symptoms in people with early-stage illness. Researchers used a special eye scan to see if changes in tiny blood vessels in the retina could predict who would respond best. The study was stopped early after enrolling only 1 person, so no conclusions can be drawn.
