New score aims to outsmart superbug pneumonia
NCT ID NCT07425561
Summary
This study aimed to create and test a simple scoring tool to help doctors quickly identify if a patient's pneumonia is likely caused by bacteria that are resistant to many common antibiotics. Researchers looked at the medical records of 300 adults with pneumonia to find patterns linked to drug-resistant infections. They then tested this new 'RESPIRE' score on a new group of patients to see how well it worked.
