Lifting weights to fight med side effects: new study for psychosis patients

Summary

This study tests whether a supervised strength training program can prevent harmful weight gain and improve physical health in people recently diagnosed with psychosis who are starting antipsychotic medication. Forty participants will be randomly assigned to either standard care plus 12 weeks of resistance training or standard care alone. The goal is to see if the program is feasible and helps control metabolic side effects.
