Brain zaps may restore aging vision, early study hints

NCT ID NCT07208318

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether age-related vision problems are caused by disrupted brain signals and if a noninvasive brain stimulation technique can fix them. Researchers will use brain scans and personalized electrical stimulation in 240 older adults to try to improve contrast sensitivity and 3D motion perception. The goal is to understand and potentially treat visual decline in aging, with possible implications for Alzheimer's disease.
