Could fewer radiation sessions after repeat breast surgery be just as effective?

NCT ID NCT06129747

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study is for people whose breast cancer has come back after previous breast-conserving surgery and whole breast radiation. The standard treatment after a second surgery is radiation twice a day for 30 sessions. This trial tests if giving radiation once a day for 15 sessions works just as well and causes fewer side effects. About 55 participants will be enrolled to compare safety and cancer recurrence rates.
