Summary

This study is for women aged 51 or older whose breast cancer has returned in the same breast or is a new cancer in that breast. It tests whether giving a short, targeted course of radiation before surgery is safe and feasible. The goal is to allow breast-conserving treatment again instead of needing a mastectomy.
