New approach aims to save breasts in repeat cancer cases

NCT ID NCT06362616

Summary

This study is testing whether giving targeted radiation before surgery is safe and feasible for women aged 51+ who have a recurrence or new low-risk breast cancer in the same breast. The goal is to offer an alternative to full breast removal (mastectomy) by using precise radiation followed by breast-conserving surgery. Researchers will monitor side effects, healing, and cosmetic results over several months.
