First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tests whether giving repeated doses of the BCG vaccine (traditionally used for tuberculosis) can improve blood sugar control in children aged 8 to 17 with type 1 diabetes. Researchers will measure changes in HbA1c, insulin use, and blood sugar swings over time. The goal is to see if the vaccine can help manage the disease, not cure it.
