Summary

This study tested if using a special light sensor to monitor kidney oxygen levels during liver surgery can help prevent acute kidney injury. Eighty adults having planned liver surgery were randomly assigned to standard care or care guided by this sensor. The goal was to see if real-time monitoring and early action could reduce kidney damage after surgery.
