Double attack on AFib: nerve procedure plus ablation may stop early relapse
NCT ID NCT07320768
First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding a nerve-blocking procedure (renal denervation) to standard heart ablation (pulsed-field ablation) can prevent atrial fibrillation from coming back early after treatment. About 86 adults with persistent AFib will be randomly assigned to get ablation alone or ablation plus the nerve procedure. The main goal is to see if the combination reduces heart rhythm problems during the first 90 days without needing antiarrhythmic drugs.
