Smartphone check-ups after colon surgery may keep patients out of the hospital

Summary
This study looks at whether a 30-day remote monitoring program can reduce hospital readmissions after colorectal surgery. About 362 adults who had or will have colorectal surgery will be randomly assigned to either the remote monitoring group or standard discharge. The main goal is to see if remote monitoring cuts down the total number of days spent in the hospital within 90 days after surgery.
