Video app could let addiction patients take methadone safely at home

NCT ID NCT05259501

Summary

This study tested a new video monitoring system for people taking methadone at home to treat opioid addiction. The goal was to see if this remote method could make treatment safer by ensuring the medication is taken correctly and not misused, while also making it more convenient for patients. Researchers enrolled 15 adults already on a stable methadone program to try the web-based system and report on how well it worked for them.
