New handheld device could bring Parkinson's rehab home
NCT ID NCT07457710
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a handheld device that gives gentle directional cues (haptic feedback) to help people with Parkinson's disease perform arm movements more accurately. Twenty participants will use either the haptic device or a similar non-haptic version during home sessions over 8 weeks. The goal is to see if the device is easy to use and improves movement quality, potentially making rehabilitation more accessible.

What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a convenient, at-home rehabilitation tool to help people with Parkinson's improve their movement and quality of life.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 20 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The device is still experimental and may not be more effective than standard care.
