Walking or cycling at home may ease fatigue in prostate cancer patients

NCT ID NCT06429813

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether two home-based exercise programs—walking or high-intensity cycling—can improve fitness and reduce fatigue in men with metastatic prostate cancer who are starting hormone therapy. Twenty-four participants will exercise at home for 12 weeks, with remote monitoring and before-and-after fitness tests. The goal is to see if this approach is practical and enjoyable for patients.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

home-based exercise (walking or stationary cycling)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could point toward a simple, drug-free way to help men with prostate cancer feel less tired and stay fitter during hormone therapy.

What could go wrong

This is a very small, early feasibility study with only 24 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. Exercise programs can be hard to stick with, and the study does not test whether exercise affects the cancer itself.
