Can a common diabetes pill protect brain function after cancer radiation?

NCT ID NCT06377696

Summary

This study is testing if patient care for brain tumor survivors can be done remotely using online tests and a smartwatch. It also compares whether adding the diabetes drug metformin helps protect memory and thinking skills that can decline after head radiation. About 100 adults who have had radiation for a brain tumor will be randomly assigned to take metformin or not, while both groups use the remote monitoring tools for a year.
