New anesthesia may protect Seniors' minds after cancer surgery

Summary

This study tests whether a sedative called remimazolam can lower the risk of postoperative delirium (sudden confusion) in patients 65 and older having laparoscopic stomach cancer surgery. 170 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either remimazolam or standard anesthesia. The goal is to see if remimazolam leads to better mental recovery after surgery.
