Brain training may save muscle in severe burn patients

NCT ID NCT07435402

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new rehab program for adults with severe burns who are on breathing machines. The program uses brain stimulation, virtual reality, and special sedation to try to prevent muscle loss. Thirty patients will be split into two groups: one gets standard care, the other adds this brain-activating rehab. The goal is to see if it helps them keep muscle mass and strength, and possibly shorten their hospital stay.
