First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tests a new rehabilitation program for adults with severe burns who are on breathing machines. The program uses special sedation, brain stimulation, and virtual reality to try to prevent muscle loss. Thirty patients will be split into two groups: one gets standard care, the other adds this brain-activating rehab. The goal is to see if it helps them keep muscle mass and strength, and possibly shorten their hospital stay.
